[TDV Presents] Khai “Bước"
Ở Việt Nam, vào ngày đầu năm, người ta thường cầm bút và viết lên giấy một bài văn hoặc bài thơ để chào đón năm mới - một tục lệ còn được gọi là “khai bút".
Thay vì khai bút, tôi quyết định khai “bước".
Xỏ đôi giày “character” và đội chiếc mũ “Pork Pie” quen thuộc luôn gắn liền với quá trình học hỏi của tôi tại ngôi nhà thứ hai - Broadway Dance Center, tôi mặc chiếc áo dài truyền thống, thử viết nên câu chuyện của mình bằng âm nhạc và toàn bộ cơ thể.
Tôi chợt nhận ra, trong những bước nhảy mang chất “ u" của mình luôn là một hồn “Á".
Cũng giống như trong tình yêu luôn có màu nắng vậy.
Xin chân thành cảm ơn Quang Tú vì những thước quay tuyệt đẹp, và chân thành cảm ơn chị Thảo từ Colorized Bridal đã tài trợ cho TDV bộ áo dài xinh xắn và cho phép chúng tôi cách điệu nó một chút để phù hợp với việc nhảy.

In Vietnam, a traditional custom where people write freestyle prose to welcome the arrival of the lunar new year persists. It is called by the name “khai but”, or “the pen of new beginnings”.
As a dancer, it feels a bit out of place for me to express my feelings through writing.
So instead, I decided to start the year 2021 with “khai buoc” - the footstep of new beginnings”.
That morning, I put on my signature dancing shoes and “Pork Pie” that have journeyed alongside me from New York to Vietnam, wore my home country’s traditional attire - Ao Dai - and began writing my story the only way I knew how - with music and every fiber of my body.
I suddenly realized, underneath my “Western” choreographies, is an evergreen “Asian” soul.
Much like underneath love, is the color of sunshine.
