Hello, hello beautiful people! In today's video I'm discussing an analogy my Trauma Recovery Coach shared with me recently: "it's like trying to buy milk from Home Depot".

In our relationships with our narcissistic mothers, parents, and family systems especially, it's important to acknowledge what relationship dynamics ARE and are NOT possible. In all relationships, really, we can ask ourselves:

What is the goal for our relationship?
What do we want to add to and gain from our relationship?
Am I asking or hoping for something that's unavailable in a relationship?

Also, as I mentioned in the video, I'd like to share a brief update about how I'm doing, for those who may be wondering or who care. My energy levels and feelings are like a roller coaster lately. One day I'll feel motivated, optimistic, productive and glowing, and the next day I'll feel depressed, laying in bed for hours, avoiding people, doing the bare minimum that I have to in order to get by.

I'm not going to be working at one of my old part time jobs come April (!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!) and that will open up SO much time in my life week to week, and take away so much pressure that's built up from me having SO much to do, consistently, for what's felt like so, so long over these past 7 months. I see the light at the end of the tunnel, per se, and I can't wait to have more time and energy in my tank to fuel me to tend and care for myself and for those people and things that I love.
