Premium gas on normal cars

My friend and my mom have filled their cars with premium gas for the longest time

And premium gas obviously has a bunch additive to help with the car mechanics

But there are regulations with fuel, and most fuels already have all the additives your cars needs and your car manufactures literally says regular gas is okay for the car



So: check online if your car needs premium gas by the manufactures and not by marketing people and gas station people telling you different



Food

I unistall all food delivery apps on my phone, when fees became more epensive than the actual food

I only eat out once or twice a week, after 6 years of rarely going out

And I only buy things that I need







Here is baseline: no more than 200-250 per person per month on food, get creative



Car battery

If you have a car, you are bound to be switching your battery in the future

And the average car battery is about $200 -250

And I honestly thought that was normal

And you hear about 3 year warranty and so on and you get exited






Memberships ( costco, amazon and and how many other you have )

Amazon prime right now is about $140 a year or $15 bucks a month

However if you spend $35 or more, you get free shipping you just don’t get 2 day shipping

Its such a waste of money to pay for these memberships


Point is:

Run the numbers



Unlimited Internet, calls and text

When was the last time you needed unlimted anything, think about

Its like having a unlimited amount of food with the same limited stomach

Plans like mint mobile cost about $30 instead of $70 and 100s of dollars with big company



Here the catch

You get 40gbs of high speed 5g

And then the rest of the time is 3g

But for the most part most of us are on wifi



Phone App subscriptions you forgot about

Remmeber those free trials you started and never cancell them

Look through your phone and bank statement and make sure you don’t have any charges you don’t remember or recognize

Place a stop payment until you find out which app is charging and then cancel



Pets

I always have to add this to the list

And I hate to be that guy

This can save you money in two ways



First don’t get a pet or get rid of a pet

Second adopted one instead of fancy breeds

Third DIY a lot of the daily expensive stuff to safe money



Personally: I don’t see a problem with getting rid of a pet you cant afford, especially when your looking at a 10-15 years commitment



Car Insurance

Shop around for insrance for your car

Don’t just think that the price is the price

If you can save an extra $100, that’s another $100 in your pocket



Coffee

Don’t worry im not telling you stop buying coffee

But people spend on average $92 per month on cofee, that’s a lot

So with that money get you a nice machine and some nice cofee and make it at home



New car

This would be a Tommy Bryson vid if I didn’t mention cars

Here is an example, in 2016 a mercedes s-class 550s cost about nearly a quarter of a million dollars ( the least was 95k )

In 2023, about 7 years later you find one of those car 30-35k with less than 100k miles
