Cannabis Foundations Session #1: Introduction to Cannabis for Medical Purposes

Following this session learners will be able to:
• Distinguish between the different types of cannabinoids, including endocannabinoids, recreational cannabis, medical cannabis, pharmaceutical
cannabinoids, and synthetic cannabinoids.
• Estimate the scope of recreational and medical cannabis use in Canada, including the most common indications and patterns of dual recreational and medical use.
• Build skills to consider the overall evidence for medical benefits and associated harms associated with medical cannabis (e.g., interpreting systematic reviews, meta-analyses, indicators such as NNT and NNH).
