How To Connect Multiple Rainwater Tanks by Rob Avis P.Eng

Verge Permaculture https://vergepermaculture.ca/ ... Mechanical engineer and permaculture expert Rob Avis shares his inside knowledge about connecting more than one rainwater collection tank in your ecosystem.

Rob describes four different scenarios, and explains how and why each option works.

All of his tanks work on a hydraulic conveyance system that can move water without a pump. It works on gravity and can be used in urban or rural systems.

Rob also explains the features of each option, and why you would choose one over another. He shares valuable tips about cold weather installations where pipes can freeze in the winter. He even gives us good advice about how to keep your rainwater collection system safe and clean.

Connecting rainwater tanks requires very specific engineering methods and hardware. Consequently, Rob even shows us parts like bulkhead fittings from the Grainger catalog, and exactly how and where to install the parts.

Rob gives us four different options, and explains the pros and cons of each.
