I'm getting to grips with KiCAD when designing my PCBs. But in this video, I'm standing on the shoulders of giants as I'm taking the design of the PCB by Dr Peter Dalmaris from his book "KiCAD like a Pro", making a few tweaks and hoping I have the skills to actually solder this tiny board.

But before I do that, I'm practising SMD soldering techniques by using a practice kit from Banggood. It's an old kit that no longer does anything but does give me the opportunity to practice various SMD soldering techniques. Any suggestions gratefully received!

To see close enough to do any of this I bought a set of watchmakers' magnifying glasses (a headset loupe) and they work amazingly well. I've used them quite a bit whilst soldering my HomeAlone project over the last few weeks.

Right, I must dash as I pack my suitcase for my trip to Germany but I'll be back soon with another video.
