Case Comparison panel event: Women in the Israeli/Swedish Film Industry. In order to better understand each other and the industry in every country it is important we learn from one another. Knowledge is power, and in the FFC we believe that there is so much global knowledge to be shared.

Our speakers are:
Lior Elefant will discuss women in the Israeli film industry. Lior is an Israeli feminist media activist. She is the Chairwoman of the Israeli Women in Film and Television Forum, "Lethal Lesbian" film festival director, and a Ph.D. candidate in Ben Gurion University of the Negev. Her research deals with women in the Israeli film industry, and the report, which will be presented at this panel, is part of her research.

Tove Thorslund will discuss women in the Swedish film industry. Tove is the editor in chief of nordicwomeninfilm.com – a webpage and database about women in the Nordic film industry, intended to disseminate knowledge and awareness of women’s professional contributions to film, from both a historical and present-day perspective. Tove holds a PhD in Cinema Studies from Stockholm University, were she also gives reoccurring guest lectures on film and television history. Prior to her post graduate studies, Tove studied film directing at LCC, University of the Arts, London, and thereafter worked at the production company Film38.
