Highland Park House in the Orkney Islands

Highland Park House is a beautiful bed and breakfast with period charm on the edge of Kirkwall near the famous distillery. It is an ideal base from which to tour Orkney, visiting the World Heritage neolithic sites such as Skara Brae and the Ring of Brodgar or experiencing dramatic, remote scenery and the abundant wildlife. The Orkney Islands are off the Northern most tip of Scotland but accessible by direct flights from Edinburgh and Glasgow as well as by a choice of ferries. In addition to the astonishing selection of well preserved neolithic and iron age archaeological sites, the islands are steeped in Norse culture. Both the first and second world war have left their mark here too, and remains from these conflicts now form part of Orkney's rich heritage.
