Various fart machines have grown in popularity over the years and the whoopee cushion was invented in the 1930's. The problem with the whoopee cushion is you can't control the sound. You sit. Jack knew that the only way to properly replicate the actual sound of flatulence is to figure out a way for air to shoot through a small hole.
