Even though this is the first time I've shown footage at this location, it was only temporary if things didn't work out well. Unfortunately the shade of the tree is to dark, it doesn't have much easy visibility for birds to notice and it's swarmed by lots of mosquitoes (about 45 or so just swarm you instantly as you head to the tree). I'll try to find another place soon and hopefully attract a bit more variety.

Spotted Turtle Dove:
(other names: Spotted Dove & Indian Turtledove)

Scientific Name: Streptopelia chinensis

Appearance: Spotted Turtle doves have a grey-brown neck and underparts tinged with pink, and have a grey head and light brown upper parts with darker colourations on the wings. The most recognisable feature of these doves is the large black collar on the base of the hind-neck covered in white spots on it. Juveniles have similar plumage to the adults but have a dark grey collar instead of the black collar of the adults and without the white spots.

Feeding: These Doves feed on seeds, grains and scraps. occasionally these birds eat seeds from the trees and bushes but mostly feed on the ground, usually in small flocks or alone.

Habitat/Location Found: Spotted Turtle Doves are native to eastern Asia but it was introduced into Australia in the mid-1800s and early 1900s and quickly became established here. They are found commonly throughout Eastern Australia and around the major towns and cities in Southern and South-Western Australia.
