. . . .

In this video I review the Kizlyar Supreme Delta fixed-blade combat/tactical knife. This is an excellent general purpose blade for the serious user and collector. The blade is made of D2 tool steel and measures (with ricasso) 5 7/8". The handle, meanwhile, is 5 1/4", and the scales are composed of Kraton with an ABS base. Without the sheath the knife weighs a stout 11.5 ounces and is handle-heavy, meaning this is a swift blade with plenty of defensive potential.

The Delta model differs from the Alpha and Trident models, for example, in that the Delta has a harpoon tip rather than a simple drop point. This protruding false edge inflicts heavier damage on soft targets while reinforcing the tip and the spine. Though I was extremely aggressive with the Delta, there was no tip damage; the point was neither broken or blunted.

The D2 tool steel allowed the blade to withstand corrosion and resist edge wear. Although I put away the Delta dirty and wet on numerous occasions over the past 8 months, there has not been the faintest amount of rust anywhere on either the tang or blade. Furthermore, after cutting cardboard, paper, leather, paracord, and copper cable, the edge was noticeably dulled, but it remained "utility sharp." It simply took a few minutes of stropping to bring out the razor sharp edge once more. But there was no sharpening needed, just honing.

Last, but certainly not least, the Delta's sheath is of the highest quality. When you purchase the satin version of the knife you receive a manly-looking sheath that sports woodland digital camouflage similar to MARPAT worn by the US Marines. It can be attached to MOLLE webbing tip-up or tip-down, or it can be placed on a belt via quick-detach snap straps or a more secure belt loop system. The icing on the cake is that the sheath can be disassembled easily and rinsed both inside and outside should the need arise.

Therefore, I highly recommend this knife to anyone looking for a high-quality tactical knife under $200 US. I have little doubt that this knife could make the trip with you to Hell and back.
