What you should do if there are errors on your DS-160 | Preparing for your visa interview

You need to know what is on your DS-160, you can't just have someone else fill it out and then forget about it.

Typos and small errors may not be an issue, but material errors could impact the outcome of your case. Your DS-160 should be as up to date and as accurate as possible.

If you have decided that you need to submit a new DS-160 here is what you need to do:

1) Go to this website: https://ceac.state.gov/genniv/
2) Choose application location
3) Enter alphanumeric code
4) Select "Retrieve an application"
5) Enter your old CEAC number
6) Enter your bio data and answer security question
7) Select "Create a new application" option and accept the terms/set a new security question
8) The new DS-160 that appears will have a lot of the info from the prior DS-160 pre-loaded. You will need to update the details that are blank.
