Fashion icon Stuart Weitzman shares entrepreneurial journey and career insights at Rice Business event.

Stuart Weitzman, best known for his iconic A-list shoe brand, spoke at Rice Business' Shell auditorium about his work and career. After selling his brand in 2019, he has been sharing his entrepreneurial journey at various business schools. Weitzman emphasized the value of taking risks and having imagination as an entrepreneur. He also shared his experience of finding success by creating custom shoes for celebrities, which propelled him to prominence in the fashion industry.

Weitzman advised aspiring entrepreneurs to work for companies in their target industry before starting their own business, citing a higher success rate for this approach. He highlighted the value of learning from others and finding a company that excels in the desired industry to gain valuable experience.
