Like, for instance, in stereo systems with four or more independent speakers.Today we'll take a look at an amplifier for the widely spread quadraphonic audio systems.This amplifier is based on the TDA7386 microcircuit. It is simple enough for beginners and its characteristics are quite good. TDA7386 is a quadraphonic amplifier. Its output power is 40 V per channel. It has a unipolar feed of 8 to 18 V with a load resistance of 4 or 8 ohms. The microcircuit has protection from short circuits, chassis faults and overheating. It also has the mute function. In the absence of any input signal it automatically switches to standby mode with low energy consumption.As you can see, the circuit of this amplifier is simpler than it seems, although it has many leads connected to the grounding. An assembled amplifier looks like this. We didn't use many parts to build it: two resistors with the rating of 10 to 47 kiloohm, two capacitors with the capacity of 1 microfarad, four 0.1 microfarad capacitors, one 0.47 microfarad and one 47 microfarad capacitor. The latter can either be polar or nonpolar working at voltages no less than 25 V. Don't get confused by the abundance of wires. The leads of this microcircuit don't have a common wire. This is why there are 8 outputs soldered to the circuit board.The output power of 160 W naturally means that the microcircuit has high current consumption heats up a lot. That's why you should pay close attention to the power supply and the cooling system.This microcircuit can be used in either a home or a portable audio system working form a 12 V battery. You can also use it in an automobile audio system.
