Join us as we kick off our very first cruise adventure on the Norwegian Getaway! We started the day by walking from our hotel on St. Charles Ave all the way to the Julia Street Cruise Terminal—trying to save some money, but in hindsight, a rideshare wouldn’t have been too expensive and probably would’ve saved some wear and tear on our luggage wheels. Lesson learned! 😅

We had a 10:30 AM arrival time, and to our surprise, security and check-in were super easy! After checking in, we were given a laminated boarding group card and waited for our turn to board.

Once on the ship, we went straight to our muster station to get checked off (we had already watched the safety videos before boarding—super easy!). Then, it was time for lunch at O’Sheehan’s, the 24/7 sports bar and restaurant, where we enjoyed some classic pub food and soaked in the lively atmosphere.

Since it was cold, rainy, and wet outside, most people were indoors exploring like us. We wandered around the ship until our room was ready and checked out some of the outdoor areas—there were even a few brave souls enjoying the hot tub!

For dinner, we dined at The Manhattan Room, one of the complimentary dining options on board. The menu here is the same as Taste and Savor.
