The humble maggot is the most synonymous bait of all time, ask any non-angler what you use to catch a fish and the vast majority of them would suggest maggots as their first option. Maggots are indeed one of the greatest baits of all time, and they certainly have their place in carp fishing. Where allowed maggots tend to be a must have item in your tactics, but with so many variations to the methods of their use, you can easily get it wrong.
