Pulmonary Complications Post Stem Cell Transplant: What Do We Know?

SESSION DESCRIPTION
Pulmonary complications post stem cell transplant can reach as high as 25-30% with increased risk for long term morbidity and increased mortality. Identifying risk factors pre transplant can provide insight into post transplant outcomes. The influence of underlying disease, previous treatments all contribute to post stem cell outcomes. Pulmonary complications are generally divided into early up to 3 months and late complications. This talk will focus more on the late complications including bronchiolitis obliterans, its pathophysiology, diagnosis, monitoring for and treatment. This session with discuss gaps in knowledge and future directions.
