My name is Adam Root. I’m the founder of Inheriting Earth.
It’s a sustainable product design company. I have a specialty in microfibre plastic.

I’ve been working on a microfibre plastic device. I’ve been drafted in to come help and support on looking at solutions for discarded fishing nets and ghost gear.

Here in Halifax today, we’re going to be talking about recommendations that are going to get taken to the joint sessions of the G7 towards oceans.

The focus is on illegal fishing and ghost nets and discarded fishing gear.

My one key message for the G7, for the environment, is to look at how a circular economy can generate wealth and value from what is considered waste, and how we can drive that into new streams and new products.
