One word to describe that Texas Tech 23-22 win over #11 Iowa State in Ames?

Texas Tech Defense Sensational At #11 Iowa State
After the last two weeks, who saw this coming? No one
This was an Arizona-type performance by the defense
Jacob Rodriguez was a star in this game much like he has been all season
He had 13 TKLs (9 solo) 2 sacks and 2.5 TFLs with a forced fumble
The tech defense was getting consistent pressure throughout the game
The interior of the DL forced the pocket to collapse and helped the Tech pass rushers and LBs force numerous pressures that resulted in 2 Iowa State turnovers
6 TFLs in this game by the Red Raiders stand out

RC’s Take: the Tech defense is the reason they won this game. They kept the Red Raiders in this game and really “mucked” the game up and forced Iowa State to play a brand of football they aren’t accustomed to. It truly was a bend-and-break and opportunistic defense by Tim DeRuyter's squad

Texas Tech Offense A Roller Coaster In Ames
There was a point in this game midway through the 3rd quarter when Tech had 162 yards of total offense and 121 of it came on the first two drives
Tahj was great with yet another 100-yard game (120 yards away from the record)
Morton missed multiple deep balls in this game including one late to Josh Kelly (Tech would score a TD anyway)
The stretches with no run plays (14 plays in the first half) have to stop
Tahj had 0 or 1 carry on 7 of the first 8 drives against Iowa State. The lone exception was the first drive of the game.
On the next 7 drives he had a combined 4 carries for 4 yards over 37 minutes of game time.
Texas Tech scored 3 points on those 7 drives including 3 three and outs, 1 four and out and two INTS
This offense is built around RPOs and Play Action passing. When Tech gets away from the run game or even forces a team to somewhat respect it, the offense stalls.
This team continues to be undisciplined in key moments (I thought the Rogers false start at the 1 with 30 seconds left was going to cost them the game)
This team has to be more disciplined, but the talent is there.
Morton isn’t the most talented QB in the world, but when Tech is really focused on RPOs and Play Action passing… he’s pretty damn good imo
