Rochester, N.Y. (WHAM) — It's been 24 hours since Gov. Kathy Hochul signed an executive order deploying the National Guard to the majority of New York's state prisons.

The order is in effect until March 21, allowing the National Guard to work inside the prisons to keep order while workers strike outside.

The officers' union said it did not authorize the strike, which has now expanded to 40 of the state's 42 prisons.

Two anonymous corrections officers on strike told 13WHAM enough is enough.
