Eleven years ago, Dante won the treble with FC Bayern. Today he is 41 and still plays professional football. How does he do it? Our member magazine ‘51’ visited him on the Côte d'Azur. There they meet him on the beach playing footvolley. When he's not on the beach, he still plays football professionally. At OGC Nice in the French premier league, he is a regular player, the head of defence and captain. In each of the last two seasons, he was the OGC outfield player with the most playing minutes; this season, he is the oldest outfield player of all the top five leagues. Only former FCB goalkeeper Pepe Reina (Como 1907 in Serie A) is a few weeks older. ‘I'm proud of that,’ he says, ’because it means: I gave everything, I was always disciplined - and I achieved something that not many can.’ He looks back on his time at FCB, his nine years at Nice and his plans to become a coach.
