In mid-July, Raymond was discovered tied up behind a shed at a “rehab house.” He had been abandoned to die. When rescuers found him, this short-legged hound/pit mix was filthy, trembling, and broken in spirit



But then something extraordinary happened. Within days of being safe, Raymond transformed into a confident, affectionate sweetheart. He melted into the arms of his care team, eager to greet every person with kisses and tail wags. After so much suffering, Raymond’s heart was still wide open to love.



Sadly, his story has taken a heartbreaking turn. After a series of biopsies and x-rays, our veterinary team discovered that the mass on Raymond’s skull has metastasized to his lungs. Surgery is no longer an option. Our vet estimates that Raymond has about 3–6 months before he’ll need stronger medications to manage pain. The only silver lining is that his tumor is slower-growing, which may give him a little more time—possibly 2–3 extra months—to simply live, love, and enjoy life.



So that’s exactly what we’re going to give him.



Raymond will spend the rest of his days with his incredible foster family, surrounded by love, safety, soft beds, good food, and endless snuggles. He will know the joy of treats, car rides, cozy naps, and the feeling of being truly cherished. He will never again feel abandoned or unwanted.



This next chapter of Raymond’s life isn’t about fighting disease—it’s about filling his final months with love, dignity, and peace.
