Hovernyan Rises in YO-KAI WATCH: THE MOVIE

The first English-language film based on the global phenomenon YO-KAI WATCH, will be in select theaters for one day on Saturday, October 15 only. The film, which features the voice talent of the hit show airing on Disney XD, follows Nate Adams and his Yo-kai friends, Whisper and Jibanyan, as they’re transported to the past to help Nate’s grandfather, Nathaniel, battle evil Yo-kai and invent the Yo-kai Watch. YO-KAI WATCH: THE MOVIE EVENT also introduces a new Yo-kai — Hovernyan, a floating blue cat who is Nathaniel’s heroic companion.

YO-KAI WATCH: THE MOVIE EVENT attendees will have a chance to receive a limited-edition Hovernyan YO-MOTION YO-KAI MEDAL, while supplies last.

Fans who want to help Hovernyan battle the evil Yo-kai can follow his adventures from YO-KAI WATCH: THE MOVIE EVENT to the new Nintendo 3DS games YO-KAI WATCH 2: Bony Spirits and YO-KAI WATCH 2: Fleshy Souls, which will be released in stores by Nintendo on Friday, September 30 and have a deep interactive storyline that ties into the film. The YO-KAI WATCH Wibble Wobble app, which is available for free in the App Store and on Google Play, will also have a special Hovernyan limited-time event to tie into the release of the film.


On August 27, YO-KAI WATCH will move to its regular time slot on Saturday mornings at 8:30 a.m. ET/PT.

The second season will include 50 episodes – nearly doubling the 26 episodes of the hit show's premiere season – and introduces more than 90 new Yo-kai to fans!

YO-KAI WATCH is on Disney XD® in U.S. and on TELETOON® in Canada.

Yo-kai Story

One summer day, an average fifth-grade kid named Nathan Adams, comes across a strange old capsule vending machine in the mountains. He puts in a coin and opens a sealed rock capsule that emerges to discover... it's actually a Yo-kai named, Whisper!

Whisper, a self-proclaimed "Yo-kai butler," gives him a Yo-kai Watch that lets him see hidden Yo-kai all over the world. Once he befriends a Yo-kai, they give him a Yo-kai Medal that he can use to summon them when Nate needs help. Nate soon finds himself calling upon his Yo-kai friends to solve life's everyday problems.
