In Azure SQL Managed Instance (SQL MI) Azure AD integration allows Azure AD users to login to SQL MI using their Azure AD credentials. This capability is more secure than SQL Server authentication and can also be MFA-enabled for an additional layer of security. This video describes the permissions and process needed to configure the Azure AD admin for a SQL MI instance. Once the admin is configured, additional Azure AD users and groups can be added to the SQL MI target instance.
