Remove Front Bumper Subaru Forester (2014-2018)

How to remove 2014-2018 Subaru Forester front Bumper!

Start by opening the hood and looking at the top edge of the grill and you'll notice that there's six plastic rivet pop tabs that need to be popped open and then removed.

These tabs pop open very easily and I didn't even have to a tool to open most of them. In fact, this bumper is held on completely by these plastic rivets.

Don't be a total of 6 pop top rivets on top of the grill area when you open the hood and an additional 8 rivets on the bottom of the bumper.

After the tabs are removed, the bumper is held on via plastic tabs under the headlights and the edge where the front fender and bumper meet. Apply solid steady pressure and the bumper will pop out. It helps to have a helper handy, so that once the tabs on both sides are removed, you can hold the bumper so it doesn't damage the paint.

That's all there is to it! The bumper is held in with plastic tabs only and doesn't require any special tools to remove it.

This applies to all Subaru Forester models, from 2014 through 2018. This would be the SJ generation Forester.
