Our #veterinary practice cares for many cat patients; one such patient was Journey, who recently underwent a #spay procedure. Although the cat spay incision is small, cats typically will lick it if allowed.

To prevent the wound from becoming red, abscessed, and problematic for your pet, we strongly recommend that owners make sure their cat wears an Elizabethan Collar (#E-Collar).

By wearing this plastic cone around its neck and disallowing access to the surgical site post-operatively, the area of incision can heal quickly, and Journey can return to her normal self with minimal disruption.
