Translated Lyrics :

We welcome the Bihu (harvest) season,
The parrot sits on the tree and sings melodiously,
The mynah bird sits on the tree and sings melodiously!

“Beat the drum well o 'dhulia'
Beat the drum well,
After the dance is over
Go back home, young lad!
We ‘Axomiyas' keep wanting to dance the Bihu
I say, do you hear?”

"Aaoi"(an Assamese expression)
This dance is like the swaying of the "kohuabon" & "birina"(two tall grasses which grow in Assam & sway in the wind).
The beat is being played on the "Dhol" (Drum).
“Manomoti (the dancer’s name), no matter how much you try to cover your body by wrapping around the “riha"(piece of Assamese garment worn by women), your bosoms will emerge from beneath them because your “riha” is too short & then you say you haven't learnt to sway your hips properly.”
