The Du’a Against 5 Things That Can Destroy Your Peace | Ustadh Mohamad Baajour

Tonight, we learn a powerful and rare du’a that Rasulullah ﷺ taught us — a du’a of protection against five things that can bring misery, hardship, and sleepless nights into our lives.

🔑 The du’a is:

اللَّهُمَّ إِنِّي أَعُوذُ بِكَ مِنْ جَارِ السُّوءِ، وَمِنْ زَوْجٍ تُشَيِّبُنِي قَبْلَ الْمَشِيبِ، وَمِنْ وَلَدٍ يَكُونُ عَلَيَّ رَبًّا، وَمِنْ مَالٍ يَكُونُ عَلَيَّ عَذَابًا، وَمِنْ خَلِيلٍ مَاكِرٍ: عَيْنُهُ تَرَانِي وَقَلْبُهُ يَرْعَانِي، إِنْ رَأَى حَسَنَةً دَفَنَهَا، وَإِذَا رَأَى سَيِّئَةً أَذَاعَهَا.

📌 Translation:
O Allah, I seek refuge in You from an evil neighbor, from a spouse that makes my hair turn white before its time, from a child who acts like a master over me, from wealth that becomes a punishment upon me, and from a deceitful friend whose eye watches me and whose heart plots against me: if he sees good, he conceals it, and if he sees evil, he broadcasts it.

✨ In this reminder, Shaykh Mohamad Baajour explains how each of these five dangers can steal your peace, damage your faith, and why the Prophet ﷺ taught us to seek refuge in Allah from them.

The company you keep — spouse, child, neighbor, or friend — shapes your dunya and akhira.

Wealth can be a blessing or a punishment, depending on how it’s earned and used.

True protection and peace can only come from Allah ﷻ.

May Allah protect us all from evil neighbors, difficult spouses, rebellious children, destructive wealth, and deceitful friends — and grant us righteous company, barakah in our homes, and peace in our hearts. Ameen 🤲
