After a breakup, you are in a very vulnerable state of mind- you are impatient, you want the pain to stop, and you want the assurance that you and your ex is going to get back together. But if you are desperate to try to get your ex's attention, they are more than likely not going to miss you because you are overwhelming them with attention and validation.

Therefore, you are, in essence, ruining that attraction process that needs to happen organically. So if you want your ex to miss you, you first need to give them time and space to do so. If you don't give them time and space to miss you, how can you expect them to miss you? Just because the feelings are strong on your end, does not mean that your ex will necessarily feel the same.
