Sri Vardhana Pura of Senkadagala was the capital of the Kandyan kingdom. Senkadagala kingdom or the city of Kandy was the capital of the last Sinhala kingdom, situated at an elevation of 490 ft above sea level, surrounded by mountain ranges in the valley of the Mahaweli River. This is the sacred place where the most venerated, left tooth relic of Gauthama Buddha is housed. That is at the temple of the Sacred Tooth Relic, a UNESCO world heritage site. The great entrance is called “Maha Wahalkada” where even the mighty deities bow down. The place where the mind is healed is none other than the Temple of the Sacred Tooth Relic.
