Nigerian airlines were unofficially blacklisted by foreign lessors for reneging on dry lease agreement by a few local airlines. However, Nigeria is heavily stigmatised, not all the claimed airlines defaulted on the dry lease agreement. Similar situation happened to Air Peace with Syphax Airlines in Tunisia where the lessor reneged on the wet lease agreement and left the Nigerian airspace leaving Air Peace with a $2 million loss
