About Concord, New Hampshire
Concord is the capital city of the U.S. state of New Hampshire and the county seat of Merrimack County. Concord and the capital region are the best parts of New England. We are close to everything—mountains, seashore, Boston. We also have great sports teams. Concord is a city of 100,000 during the day but only 40,000 at night—we have a real hometown feel. Downtown Concord is filled with shops, restaurants, entertainment, and many cultural events.
We have miles and miles and miles of trails within our city. We also have gorgeous parks, a vibrant downtown, great schools, and lots of activities for families—black ice hockey event, in-town market days, Halloween howl, and midnight merriment. There are lots of opportunities for kids with local sports teams, an art school, and an award-winning dance school. Our city is home to the #1 patent law school in the country. We have two beautiful rivers—the Merrimack and the Contoocook rivers. We have several theatres which host live events. Every four years, we are prominent in the national news with our First-in-the-Nation Primary. It is not uncommon to walk downtown during these times and meet national politicians and news people!
