David Fincher: 100 Takes of Suffering

David Fincher is one of the best driectors of our time: Fight Club, Se7en, The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo, Zodiak, Gone Girl, Social Network, The Game, Mank.

All these are great dramatic movies. But behind the scenes is where the real drama unfolded. David is one of the most meticulous Directors in history and he is famous for driving actors nuts by doing hundreds takes of the same scene over and over again.

Maybe it's because he used to work for some time in special effects and got addicted to making things perfect with CGI. Or maybe because he knows pretty well how editing works and wants his editor to always have enough material to make it perfect. Or maybe he just enjoys annoying other people. Anyhow, all of his movies are pure joy to watch and this perfection on screen really tickles some cinephile pickles.
