Follow Jess & Casey as we go mining on Titanite Hill! We had so much fun on our first mining aka rockhounding trip! We are amateurs and learned a lot as we went! We hope you can learn from our experience...not everything shiny is mica...hahaha oops.

Gem Availability
8/10 - It was very easy to find minerals, many were just simply sitting on the ground. Depending on how much you dig, you can find tons of amazing stones. Has been overmined in some areas. Bring a shovel!

Child Friendly
7/10 - Right off the road, easy to get to the base of the hill, where there are many minerals just lying around. Staying at the base of the hill is easier. Sneakers with good tread a must!

Terrain
7/10 - Easy to get to, some steep climbing but similar to a good hike!

Bugs/Wildlife
5/10 - Wear tons of bug spray and long sleeves and pants! You are in the forest and the mosquitos are fierce! This will depend on time of year also. No additional wildlife seen, populated area with cottages nearby.
