[FF7 Ever Crisis] Leviathan EX 2 (PWR 304944)

As a day one player, it's kinda nice to have a fight where Murasame and Seaside Collar can really shine after all this time. The real stars of this fight, though, are the fast charging Limit Breaks. Using Limit Breaks to interrupt and delay the enemy's attacks helps tremendously in this encounter.

By taking advantage of the extra ATB you can build, I was able to summon Ramuh before the first sigil phase. Leviathan resists damage during those phases, so you would end up holding the summon for quite a while if you can't use it before. This also allowed me to do enough damage to the boss to skip a difficult portion of the fight.

Normally after the first sigil phase, Leviathan will use 3 back-to-back Briny Bellows, followed by a Tidal Wave. Each cast gives the boss MATK Up stacks as well as hits your lowest max HP character hard, so normally you would need to both heal and have a source of MATK Down in a very small window.

My Red XIII had enough MDEF and Water Resist to make it manageable, but being able to skip it altogether was nice. It also meant I didn't need to worry about healing him as much. Red's main job was to apply Lightning Resist Down as well as tank those Briny Bellows. I gave him Junk Collar so he could reduce MATK when Zack had to heal, but ended up not really needing it.
