►Replacing a dead battery is a universal experience. In the fourth-generation M3, the battery replacement process is cleaner than most vehicles, thanks to a trunk-mounted battery. However, BMW's precise charging system control needs to know when a new battery has been installed to tailor its parameters to the new energy source.
