In this video I would be telling in detail that what happened at the time of Lucknow Pact in 1916. The Lucknow Pact of 1916 was an agreement reached between the Indian National Congress and the Muslim League at the joint session of both the parties held in Lucknow in December 1916. Through the pact, the two parties agreed to allow over-representation to religious minorities in the provincial legislatures. Sarojini Naidu gave Jinnah the title ‘the Ambassador of Hindu-Muslim unity.’ Lucknow Pact 1916 involved the concept of Introduction of a system of weightage for minority representation (it implied giving minorities more representation than their share in the population). According this Lucknow Pact of 1916 one-third membership to be given to Muslims in the Central Government. Please watch the video for complete details..
