New Jersey fishing - HOW to catch Mahi-mahi

Today the crew is in New Jersey Fishing for Mahi-mahi. The crew fills the fish boxes on the Pursuit boat and shows how they catch mahi-mahi.

Captain Stan gives a lesson on how he successfully targets and catches multiple Mahi Mahi on late summer trips to the Canyons off New Jersey and New York. Watch this video to learn how to use your own boat to locate and catch mahi-mahi or dorado. We generally hit the lobster pots that are located on the canyon walls on our way to and from fishing for tuna. We generally find large schools of them in 400 feet of water and they will savagely take any bait or lures you feed to them. The federal regulation on Mahi Mahi is 10 fish per person not to exceed 60 fish per boat.

A quality hook is the most important part of your rig, we rely on owner hooks because they are strong and very sharp. We troll an 8/0 for our tuna rigs and go with an 11/0 for swordfish.
