Smyth Busters: You CAN Afford a Custom Gun

Описание к видео Smyth Busters: You CAN Afford a Custom Gun

In an earlier video ("Can I Really Afford a Custom Gun?"), Brownells Gun Techs™ Steve and Caleb sat down with Bobby Tyler of Tyler Gun Works (Friona, Texas) and ordered up a custom job on a sturdy but plain Ruger Blackhawk chambered in .45 Long Colt. About 4 months have passed, and that Blackhawk is back, transformed and looking very handsome. Bobby & Co. replaced the standard grip with an elegant Bisley grip frame and nicely figured Turkish walnut grip panels. They cut down the Blackhawk's original 7½" barrel to 4-5/8" so the muzzle is even with the end of the ejector rod. Tasteful partial engraving has been added, the frame color case finished, with a Freedom Arms front sight and Bowen rear sight for a very clean sight picture, and a Bisley hammer that almost leaps under your thumb. Inside, the action has been meticulously smoothed up, with a 3½ lb. trigger pull and a lockup like a bank vault. The barrel is the original from Ruger, but Steve explains how it was modified to give this Blackhawk excellent accuracy. And the guys answer the Big Question: Did all of this work come in at the price Bobby originally quoted? All we'll say here is the myth that you can't afford a custom gun is still BUSTED.
