A former US Army infantryman demonstrates how to clear the dreaded bolt over-ride malfunction on the fly, in a matter seconds, using a $1 paint can opener (which should be kept attached to a lanyard affixed to the rifle sling- see thumbnail)

PROCEDURE: Upon discovering a bolt over-ride malfunction, 1) Remove magazine. 2) Lock charging handle in the forward position 3) remove paint can opener from your sling (item pictured in thumbnail) 4) insert paint can opener into ejection port 5) use end of paint can opener to press against bolt face and manually force the bolt to the rear several times, while pointing magazine well downward. Stuck cartridge case will fall to the ground.
5) reinsert magazine and rechamber. Continue shooting.

*Fun fact: I filmed this a week before publishing, but the night before it went live I actually had this rare malfunction happen with my CMMG Bravo 22LR conversion bolt in this very AR, and used this very technique to clear it.
