Heat without the Guilt - My Heat Pump Story

To protect the environment, to maintain my finances, and to heat the house to a comfortable level, I have had an Air Source Heat Pump installed. I had some misgivings prior to doing this, as retrofitting heat pumps in existing properties is considered problematic by some. Back in 2011 when I had solar power installed I asked the installers about heat pumps. They didn't do them at the time and I found it difficult to find answers to questions such as how well they worked, or whether a ground source heat pump was better or even possible. My objective in making this video was to make the video I would have liked to have watched when looking into the subject, and trying to work out the best way of achieving Heat without the Guilt.

A follow on video is planned about work done prior to installing the heat pump, to measure the efficiency of the gas boiler and to calculate the Heat Transfer Coefficient of the house.
