Mercurys, Fords, Cobras and Customs collide as Dennis makes his way to Newport News for the Virginia Fall Classic. What a beautiful autumn day in Newport News. Crisp air and golden sunshine casting light on some crisp cars, like a real-deal, not a replica, and a very early '62 AC Cobra! One of the very first made! Touched by Carroll Shelby himself, this baby was the 4th car ever built. It stopped Dennis in his tracks! A "Dick Dean" '57 Oldsmobile custom catches the eye, with a beautiful amber color, the embodiment of Fall. Once a 4 door wagon, now part truck, it looks like the Olds version of the Cameo. A favorite mark AND the favorite color of Dennis, a GREEN Studebaker truck shows up, so of course we're doing that. But this one is gnarly! With a Napco 4WD conversion, it gives it an aggressive look for a truck that is normally pretty happy looking. Plus, a really funky, and one that stumped Dennis, a '60 German Ford Taunus. Almost like a 2 door hatchback with Merc side trim and finned tail lights, it almost has a small '57 Nomad feel to it. And how better to end a fall show than with a bright pearl orange pumpkin of a '56 Merc Custom. With an interior just as bright, the opened up grill and louvered hood hide a beefy 305 with just as much artistry put into it. A fine way to end the car show season.
