This webinar focused on Tidy Finance and accessing financial data. Christoph Scheuch, Head of Artificial Intelligence, wikifolio Financial Technologies AG, and co-author and maintainer of the Tidy Finance Project, introduced Tidy Finance and illustrated the underlying principles.

Tidy Finance was an opinionated approach to empirical research in financial economics. It provided a fully transparent, open source code base in R and Python. The website provided the tools for students to learn about empirical applications based on a fully transparent code base and for instructors the materials for teaching the importance of reproducible research using tidy principles.

Scheuch introduced Tidy Finance and illustrated the underlying principles. The webinar then focused on accessing and managing financial data using R. It showed how to import different open source and proprietary data sets and how to organize them in a database.
