Описание к видео Yes Virginia, There Is A Santa Claus - Jim Nettleton - 1970s

Yes Virginia, There Is A Santa Claus - Jim Nettleton - 1970s

"Yes Virginia, There Is a Santa Claus" which was based on an article from the New York Sun back in 1897.

Eight-year-old Virginia O’Hanlon wrote a letter to the editor of New York’s Sun, and the quick response was printed as an unsigned editorial Sept. 21, 1897. The work of veteran newsman Francis Pharcellus Church has since become history’s most reprinted newspaper editorial, appearing in part or whole in dozens of languages in books, movies, and other editorials, and on posters and stamps.

Radio personality, Jim Nettleton, narrated this version holiday story. Jim Nettleton, who had a marvelous set of pipes, was one of the "Boss Jocks" on the old WFIL Philadelphia, in the late 1960s and early 1970s He had also worked on air at WABC in the early 70's and then to WPIX-FM during the 70's. He later worked in Philly at WCAU-FM (now WOGL), WUSL (in its "U.S. 1" easy-listening days), WPEN, WFIL, and WOGL.

After over 40 years working on the radio, I have recorded lots of radio airchecks, and many from my friends as well.

You'll find audio of many radio personalities who have passed away. Lots radio recordings from the 1940s, through the 2010.

We also talk about radio broadcasting. If you happen to have classic airchecks, maybe even of yourself on the air, we'd love to share it here!

We also share videos about Travel & Cruising. I share tips on how I travel cheaply, so you can do it also! Find me on Facebook:   / ellisairchecks
