The celebration will kick-off with a Documentary Screening of the 2020 film, "John Lewis: Good Trouble", an intimate account of legendary U.S Representative John Lewis' life, legacy and more than 60 years of extraordinary activism.

Post-Film Discussion: “Reflections on a Remarkable Life"
John Lewis’ Congressional Director Tuere Butler in conversation with Dr. Kali-Ahset Amen, John Lewis Fellowship Director

6:30 - 7:30 pm ET
Music Concert: “Movement Music from the Selma Road to the BLM Protest Summer of 2020”, broadcast from the Historic First Congregational Church under the artistic direction of Rev. Dr. Dwight Andrews, chronicles a history of movement music from the civil right era through present day protest songs.

7:30 - 8:00 pm ET
Post-Concert Dialogue: “Afterword: Reverend Dwight Andrews in conversation with Dr. Kali-Ahset Amen”

ABOUT THE FELLOWSHIP:

The John Lewis Fellowship is an international educational program for emerging leaders, offered in partnership with the National Center for Civil and Human Rights. The program examines the regional experiences, cultures, and institutions of the American South through a different thematic lens every year. Fellows complete the 12-month program better equipped to examine structural oppression and internalized prejudice from different standpoints—and to bring lessons of leadership and coalition-building into their own future professional and activist work.
