Backpacking Sycamore Canyon Wilderness, Sedona & The Mogollon Rim: Big Casner Mountain Loop

Описание к видео Backpacking Sycamore Canyon Wilderness, Sedona & The Mogollon Rim: Big Casner Mountain Loop

This was a 3 day backpacking trip through the heart of the Sycamore Canyon Wilderness & the Red Rock Secret Canyon Wilderness just west of Sedona, AZ. Basically the whole route was a loop around Casner Mountain.

I started at a point along Road 525C and headed out along the Dogie Trail until intersecting with Sycamore Creek. Then I headed up-canyon along Sycamore Basin until the trail just kinda disappeared. I walked the Sycamore Creek bottom to connect up with the Taylor Cabin Route, which was an adventure in itself - with washed out gullies and some short canyon narrows. Eventually up through thick fire-burned Ponderosa forest all the way up to the top of the Mogollon Rim. Then I descended the Mooney trail to get back to the car. True adventure.
