Maiden Holdings (MHLD) is a reinsurance company. The stock tanked back in 2018 when an insurance policy went bad, and the stock has been depressed ever since.

Business operations have greatly improved over the past year, returning to profitability, as well as reducing liabilities by around $200 million per quarter. As this continues the value of the company increases and will be worth more.

I invested in this company by buying the Series A preferred shares (MH-PA) since I believe they offer compelling upside with lower risk than the common stock. Insider ownership on the common is over 30%, so I feel confident being above insiders in the capital stack in case something goes wrong with the company. I expect to redeem the Preferred shares (now at $10.50) for the $25 par value within 2 years, which would work out to over a 50% annualized return.
