Xterra Talk-Rear Hatch Storage Mod DIY (How To, Nissan, 2nd Gen, Frontier, Pathfinder, Modification)

Описание к видео Xterra Talk-Rear Hatch Storage Mod DIY (How To, Nissan, 2nd Gen, Frontier, Pathfinder, Modification)

On this episode of Xterra Talk, I'm running through a modification that I'm constantly being asked about. I'm going to show you how to quickly and easily modify your rear hatch for additional storage.

It's actually super simple to remove the rear hatch and with a little bit of measuring and planning, you can do the same thing. If you take this idea and do something different with it, I'd love to hear from you in the comments regarding what you did. I think you could pretty much mount anything back there, so I'm excited to see what you guys do with it.

Also, another thing that I didn't mention in the video is that when I added the additional weight to the hatch, I did upgrade my gas struts for the hatch to 175 pound struts. I'm pasting a link below along with links to the quickfists and other items used for the mod in case it helps!

Thanks for watching and if you enjoy the video, please click the thumbs up and click subscribe and the bell to be notified when new videos drop! Lots of new Xterra content coming in the future!

Here are links to the items used in this mod:
Original Quick Fist (shovel and axe mount): https://amzn.to/2q9DE5L
Mini Quick Fist (flashlight and Morakniv mount): https://amzn.to/3312Qdt
Super Quick Fist (not installed, but I bought this to mount a fire extinguisher so figured it might help depending on your application): https://amzn.to/2N1sR6Q

If you're adding a lot of weight to the hatch, I'd recommend upgrading your gas struts to the 175 pound version from McMaster-Carr. I did this on mine and they're great. Here's a link to a DIY thread on thenewx.org that gives the part number and a walkthrough of how to replace them: https://www.thenewx.org/threads/how-t...
