What do you do once you've been released on bond? If you've just been released on bond, you don't need to just worry about your case. You need to worry about your bond, and how to stay out of jail. Today we are going to talk about a few things to make sure you follow your bond and stay out of jail.

1) This may seem obvious, but you need to keep your bondsman happy. This means making sure you have paid them in full and regularly checking in with them so they know where you are at all times leading up to your trial. Their job is to make sure you show up in court.

What happens if you don't do what your bondsman says? They will get a warrant for your arrest and put you back in jail.

2) Make sure you follow the conditions of your bond. These conditions can vary from case to case. In misdemeanors, there are often no conditions. If you have a DWI case or an assault case, however, there will likely be conditions. These may be things like no drinking or installing a lock in your car that prevents you from drinking and driving. You may not be allowed near the victim in an assault case.

There is a condition by some courts that you submit for drug testing while out on bond. If you fail, you will have to go back to jail or post a new bond.
