The Archbishop of Assisi-Nocera Umbra-Gualdo Tadino has relaxed the country's previous tourism limitations, enabling overseas pilgrims to observe Blessed Carlo Acutis, the first millennial to be beatified in the Catholic Church, through a viewing glass on his tomb.

Acutis was a young Italian Catholic with a strong devotion to the real presence of Jesus in the Eucharist and a talent for computer coding. Despite the COVID-19 epidemic, more than 41,000 people visited Acutis' grave during the diocese's 19-day commemoration of his beatification in October 2020. Pope Francis has stated that his testimony demonstrates to today's young people that genuine pleasure is achieved by putting God first and serving Him through our brothers and sisters, particularly the least fortunate.
